{best of the best photographer}

I found this out a few weeks ago, so I'm sorry it's delayed but I wanted to share:

That's right everyone! You read that correctly: I've been voted 2011 Best of the Best Photographer! I don't know how I pulled this one off and don't even know who voted for me, but if you did, THANK YOU! I feel very honored and blessed and will hang this certificate on my office wall proudly. :)

This past Sunday I got the chance to drive out to Vacaville to photograph a precious 6-day-old baby boy with his mom, Corey, and dad, Aaron. I think I fell in "baby love" when I first laid eyes upon little Blake. He's seriously one of the most beautiful baby boys I've ever seen. {You don't have to look to far to see where his good looks come from either- mom and dad are beautiful!} He is just the sweetest lil' boy with the most kissable lips, full head o' hair and the cutest toes. He was awake for most of the session which made it fun to see his wide array of expressions. Check out this baby boy and fall in love with him just like I did!

Becky and Brian are the sweetest couple ever. They met a few years back at church when Brian had his eye on Becky. She wasn't too interested at first.... Becky's mom even invited Brian over for dinner before Becky did! I'm sure they fell head-over-heels for each other shortly after and have been together for three and a half years since. They've been together since they were teenagers and I'm sure will be together until they grow old and wrinkled. They are total opposites yet seem to fit together just like a puzzle piece. Becky is artistic, down-to-earth, girly and sweet as pie. She is into ceramics and art (total plus in my book) and even lives on a mandarin farm (so cool!).  Brian is a true man's man who loves working on trucks, big machinery and fishing. It was a lot of fun getting to know this adorable duo and capturing their wedding day!

The perfect wedding favor for an August afternoon wedding: diy ice cream in a jar! Such a cute idea.

I have to make a personal post today because I am just so excited! My husband and I had our "big" ultrasound this morning and we found out the sex of our baby. I am beyond happy right now and in a state of bliss. My baby is beautiful already, even at 19 weeks. :) Baby Ho has 2 arms, 2 legs, 10 fingers and 10 toes...perfection pretty much, haha. We aren't saying if we are having a baby boy or baby girl just yet. We want to tell our families in person next Saturday, so the world will have to wait until then. Oh the suspense!

I was able to finally photograph Monique and her family after months of planning and communicating via phone calls and e-mails. So, needless to say, I was excited to meet her, her husband Ken and their baby girl Regan. We met out in Sacramento on a breezy cool evening (a total 180 from my last session in blistering hot AZ!!) in a beautiful local park. It was fun capturing images of Regan, now 2 months old. She is so expressive and made some of the cutest faces ever! She is absolutely adorable with those big, brown eyes. Have fun checking out this beautiful lil' family.

When I was down in Arizona a couple weeks ago, I had the chance to do a quick shoot with, quite possibly, the most gorgeous family in the world. Hello? Vogue? You need a family full of models? Why yes, the Burkes are the family for you. But seriously, they are not only good lookin', they are sweet too. Verona and Moira are the cutest sisters who are polite, soft spoken and angelic. And they look like Who children from the Grinch Who Stole Christmas, haha! You might remember way back when to 2 years ago when I last shot them, which you can see here. Anyway, I had fun with these guys that evening even though we were dripping with sweat (well, at least I know I was!). :)
