{rainy day}
It is raining cats and dogs today! I have been cooped up inside my apartment staying dry all day. I've also been getting everything together before I fly home on Sunday. I didn't realize how much crap I need to pack and bring down with me! Oh lordy, I hope I can fit it all in my suitcases. Anyway, I got a little bored and decided to take some photos around my home.
I'm obsessed with bows. Literally, I love them. I took my necklace off last night before going to the gym and noticed that I left it on my lamp. I loved the way it looked against the glowing lamp shade.
Frankie enjoying the rain from his, er I mean MY comfy bed. =]

It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring....

{chimichangas}
Last night Lee and I made some yummy Beef Chimichangas. They were our first attempt and we fell in love {well, at least I know I did!}. Here is the recipe:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp. taco seasoning or to taste
3/4 tsp. dried oregano
2 tbsp. and 2 tsp. sour cream
4 oz. can chopped green chiles
1 tbsp. and 1 tsp. distilled white vinegar
2/3 c. shredded cheddar cheese
3 tbsp. butter
4 medium flour tortillas
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
2. Brown the beef, onion, garlic, taco seasoning and oregano in a skillet over medium heat, about 8 minutes. Drain off excess fat.
3. Stir in sour cream, chiles, and vinegar until well mixed. Remove from heat and mix in cheese.
4. Melt butter in a medium skillet over low heat. When melted, dip each tortilla in the butter until soft. Place the buttered tortilla onto a baking sheet and fill with about 1/3 c. meat mixture. Fold into a burrito and flip seam side down. Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.
5. Bake in oven for approximately 10 minutes or until crispy.
6. Top with sour cream and more cheese. Eat and enjoy!

{fun day!}
Hello, bloggers and friends! Lots going on today...
First, Happy Birthday to my baby brother Austin! Yay, 19! The last year of being a teenager. Holy moly, he's getting older.... and so am I. I wish I could be there to make him green eggs and green pancakes for breakfast like I used to when I was younger, but I will have to send him my love and b-day wishes from Cali.
Here is a pic of us from like, 10 years ago. It might possibly be my favorite picture of him and I. Yep, I'm holding him hostage with a toy gun while wearing a sleep mask on my face. I am just that cool. And please take note of my teen obsession of Leo DiCaprio as seen on my bedroom walls.
Also going on today, St. Patrick's Day! Cheers! I think the only thing I am doing to celebrate the holiday is, well, nothing. BUT, I did make sugar cookies with green frosting for my husband and his co-workers for today. That counts, right? =P Might I say, they turned out pretty yummy.
Lastly, I received a convo from a fellow Etsy-er (is that a word?) this morning. She featured one of my images on her blog! It's all about her moving to California and all its greatness. I am very honored and pleased that she decided to use my pic. =] After I read her blog post, I wandered over to her Etsy shop and found a bracelet that I totally WANT. It's a fertility tracking bracelet. Um, I need to have this. So cute, right? The best part about it is the "hope" charm. Anyway, check out her blog and Etsy shop and leave her some love.
A-dor-a-ble!
Have a fabulous day!

{scouting}
I went out scouting for locations the other day after it had been raining all afternoon. I actually found some beautiful spots around town and I've gotta admit, I really enjoyed myself! It was fun to just be by myself and drive around the hilly towns looking for fun spots to get out and explore. The little outing was a success and I hope to get out and do that more often. Perhaps tomorrow....
My totally awesome rain boots. My mom bought them for me forever ago and I finally broke them out of their box! Don't be jealous, people.
A small shack I passed on the side of the road.
{lasagna night!}
This blog post is nothing exciting. I just wanted to throw up a few images from Saturday night with my hubby. We had an awesome evening just hanging out and cooking together. Now that I think about it, I think it is exciting. Spending time with my love and eating and drinking...life doesn't get much better than that!
Maynard Keenan's vino. Yumm. {For those of you keeping track, I am officially not pregnant at the moment, thank you. I think I deserved a lil' treat since it's been forever!}
How cute is my Freddy?
The end result!

{animal shelters}
I am so, so excited! I met a super nice lady a few weeks back who works with a few animal shelters in Placer County. She helps {I'm sure in more ways than I probably realize} take pictures of the animals who are up for adoption. The nicer, better quality photos are what helps all of the cute pets get adopted and find new loving homes. So, I am going to try to start working with some of the shelters in my area and take pictures of all the animals! Um, can you say awesome?
I have been wanting to volunteer at an animal shelter forever, and now is my opportunity to do so. It would seriously be so amazing to be able to work with animals who are in need. I will have to try to not cry every time I go, but it would be such a great opportunity to be around animals and do photography as well. I am looking forward to what happens and in the mean time, check out the sites that my new friend works with: AAARF and Field Haven.

My dog, Daphne, back at home in AZ. We rescued her almost 10 years ago!

{etsy fun!}
Alright party people, it's been about a week since my last post. =[ Life has been a little crazy lately, especially the last few days. After some woozah-ing, I'm ready for some positivity!
If you've read my other blog posts, Etsy is something new and absolutely fun for me. I just joined a team called The Etsy D Listers {hey girl hey!} and I've started to check out some other peoples' work. Just look at the intricate and beautiful work of Meg's Crochet Jewels! I love her Hammered Crochet Cuff Bracelet. It totally reminds me of something you'd find in LOTR {which I am a big fan of. yes, nerd alert.}. Anyway, gorgeous stuff!
I am excited to learn more about Etsy and meet new people. Yay! Happy Thursday =]
